Understanding Reminder Tracks
Marketing Automation utilizes three distinct tracks to manage different stages of the quoting process. The Saved Quotes Track targets customers who have started but not finished a configuration, sending automated reminders at custom intervals with optional discounts to encourage a purchase. For internal management, the Merchant-Facing Submitted Quotes Track alerts your team to unreviewed requests after a set number of days to ensure no lead is ignored. Finally, the Finalized Quotes Track follows up with customers who have an approved price, reminding them of the quote's expiration date and providing a direct path to complete their order.
Overview
Marketing Automation uses three separate reminder tracks, each designed for a different type of quote and a different audience. You can enable or disable each track independently.
Saved Quotes Track (Customer-Facing)
This track targets customers who saved a product configuration but have not yet submitted or purchased it.
- Audience: The customer who saved the quote.
- Goal: Encourage the customer to return and complete their purchase.
- How it works: The system sends reminder emails at intervals you define (for example: 1 day, 3 days, 7 days, and 14 days after the quote was saved). Each step can have a different subject line, email body, and optional discount incentive.
- Auto-archive option: You can choose to automatically archive a saved quote after all reminder steps have been sent, removing it from the customer's view.
- Reply-to address: Set the email address where customer replies will be directed.
Submitted Quotes Track (Merchant-Facing)
This track reminds you (the store owner or team) about submitted quote requests that have not been reviewed or finalized yet.
- Audience: The merchant (your team).
- Goal: Make sure submitted quotes get attention promptly — a quote sitting unreviewed is a lost sale.
- How it works: You set two values — how many days after submission the first reminder is sent, and how often to repeat after that. For example: remind after 3 days, then repeat every 3 days.
- No custom steps: This track uses a standard notification format and does not have customizable email templates.
Finalized Quotes Track (Customer-Facing)
This track follows up with customers whose quotes have been finalized (priced and approved) and are waiting for the customer to complete their purchase.
- Audience: The customer with a finalized quote.
- Goal: Remind the customer that their quote has a limited validity period and encourage them to buy before it expires.
- How it works: Similar to the Saved track — you define steps with delays, subject lines, email bodies, and optional discounts. Delays are counted from the day the quote was finalized.
- Quote validity: Set how many days a finalized quote remains valid (default: 30 days). Once expired, the quote is auto-archived.
- Reply-to address: Set where customer replies will be directed.
