What Is a Category?
A category (also called a group) is one selectable section of the configurator — for example, "Video Cards" or "USB Drives". Each category is backed by a Shopify collection; every product in that collection becomes a selectable item within the category.
Steps
- Either create a new product, or choose an existing one from the Active or Archived lists in the Configurator Products section.
- If the configuration already exists, open the configuration by clicking on its row.
- Click Add New Category:
- In the modal, type in the search box to find a Shopify collection. Collections already used in this configuration are automatically excluded from results.
- Select the collection you want and it will be placed at the bottom of the current configuration.
Adding Multiple Categories
Repeat the steps above for each additional category. There is no hard limit on the number of categories per configuration.
Tip: Organize your Shopify collections thoughtfully before building. Each collection should contain only the items relevant to one configuration category.
How to Add Items to the Configuration
Each collection you add to a configuration should have products associated with it.
New Group: To add some or all of these products to a newly added group then click on Add items for that group. You will find this link at the bottom left of the group card:
Existing Group: If you wish to add one or more items to an existing group then click on Add more items. You will find this link at the top right of the group card:
Note: When adding items to an existing group, only items not currently in that group will be available.
A modal containing all unadded items for the current collection will be listed. Select items you wish to add by clicking their associated checkbox and then by clicking the Add items button, located at the bottom right of the modal:
How to Remove Items and/or Groups from a Configuration
Group Item: To remove an item from a group, locate the 
icon at the end of the item's row and click it. Once the configuration is saved, the item will be deleted permanently from the group.
Group: To remove a group from the configuration, click the Remove link, located at the top right of the group card:
Once clicked you'll be able to either Confirm or Cancel the deletion:
