Creating a rule
Create rules so the items chosen in a configuration are compatible with each other. A configuration can have multiple conflict resolution rules applied to it.
Create a Conflict Rule
1. Click the Create rule button at the top-right of the page.
2. A modal window opens. Fill in the following:
| Field | Instructions |
| Rule type | Choose Incompatible or Requires from the dropdown. |
| Item A (source) | Start typing a product name. A dropdown list appears — click the correct item. |
| Target items | Start typing to search, then click to add. You can add multiple targets. Each appears as a removable tag. |
| Required quantity | (Requires rules only) Enter how many of the target item should be auto-selected. Default is 1. |
| Notes | Optional. Add a note to remind yourself why the rule exists (for example, "Motor draws too much power for this controller"). |
3. Click Create rule (or Create X rules if you added multiple targets).
Validation: The app checks for logical issues. If a problem is found (for example, a circular rule), you will see a warning. You can choose to save anyway or go back and fix it.
